drivetrain is being twisted front to back from front axle torque twist. To
control this front to back twisting, Subaru created a pitch stop mount. The
factory pitch stop is made of plastic with soft rubber bushings, allowing for a
significant amount of movement under hard driving conditions, creating
drivetrain slop and shudder. The PERRIN Pitch Stop mount
controls the movement of the drivetrain in both on and off throttle driving
giving the driver a more positive feel and literally putting more power to the
wheels by eliminating lost energy. The PERRIN Pitch Stop Mounts
body is machined from 6061 billet aluminum and features a combination of 90a
and 70a durometer. The bushings are as stiff as possible without introducing

Which is all fine and dandy – and sounds a lot better than naming the new Tomato* after past and present Mercedes – but seems an odd name to give a cumbersome crossover come SUV come BMW GT wanabee. Why odd, you ask?

The perpetual loss-maker for Mercedes that is the smart car (the other being Maybach, which is now being left to wither on the vine) still continues, and Mercedes are planning a replacement, previewed by the recent smart forvision concept which heralds the new smart fortwo which will share its platform with the next Renault Twingo. But to freshen the current smart fortwo until the all new smart fortwo arrives, Mercedes has rolled out a few cosmetic tweaks for the current smart fortwo for 2012, but haven’t bothered to tweak either the chassis or engines.
