Moreover, remote controller realizes functions as lock/unlock without user touch on buttons. Function AUTO - keyless locking /unlocking of vehicles is base on RFID technology. It’s means: main unit periodically transmit identification signal. When the remote controller is in range of this signal and the remote will be positive authorized, the alarm will be disarmed and the vehicle can be unlocked. When the remote controller leave area with positive identify of RFID signal, the alarm will be armed and the vehicle can be locked. Positive identify area is aprox. 4-5 meters around vehicle. The production version of BMW’s plug-in hybrid supercar – the i8 – finally arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year offering almost proper supercar price – £100k – along with an almost supercar 0-62mph of 4.4 seconds. What the i8 also offers is ridiculous economy figures thanks to its plug-in hybrid power (and thanks to the daft way official economy figures are calculated) and now, as the i8 gets ready to go in to full production, BMW has revealed that the official economy figures have just got dafter.
Nissan says the Leaf electric car will snag Toyota Prius owners
Tue, 01 Jun 2010Owners of Toyota Motor Corp.'s fuel-efficient Prius hybrid will succumb to the charms of the Nissan Leaf electric sedan, predicts Nissan Division Vice President Al Castignetti. More than half of the 130,000 hand-raisers who have expressed an interest in the Leaf so far have been Prius owners, he said. "That's a pretty significant signal to us," Castignetti said last week as Nissan North America Inc.
