Computer gamer headed for Formula 1

THE WINNER of a computer game competition is now headed for the real world of Formula One with World Champion Sebastian Vettel’s Infiniti Red Bull racing team. Jann Mardenborough won Nissan’s competition to find a new racing driver by beating his rivals on a racing simulator game. His prize was a seat in a variety of racing cars since his victory in 2011 and now he will race in the GP3 series, which is the recognised route to Formula One.

Cunningham Corvette battle heads to courts

The filings—in Cumberland County Court and U.S. District Court in Harrisburg—provide several details about the discovery and ownership of the long-lost car, including the sale price: $75,000.

Daimler and BYD name new brand Denza

Mercedes-Benz sources in Germany have confirmed Chinese media reports suggesting that parent company Daimler and Chinese carmaker BYD's new joint venture brand will be called Denza. Created as a Chinese-market-only brand, Denza is planned to support a range of "affordable" electric-powered vehicles, the first of which is set to be unveiled at the Beijing motor show next month. Based on the underpinnings of the first-generation Mercedes-Benz B-class--a car originally designed to accept batteries within its flat floor structure--the first Denza model was developed in China by a team of engineers from both Daimler and BYD Auto.
