Since its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, Auto Design Night has established itself as the event for professional designers to meet up and unwind after a hard day at the auto show. Hosted on the evening of the first press day, this informal gathering has already provided hundreds of designers with a stylish, informal venue in which to eat, drink and relax with their peers, as well as providing top-class entertainment and some surprise concept unveils. BMW DesignworksUSA Intermarine 55 Yacht

Following on from their alliance with Siemens on the Metro Inspiro train, BMW DesignworksUSA have collaborated with Intermarine, Brazil's leading luxury yacht brand. Having previously designed sea-going vessels for Bavaria Yachts, a manufacturer of entry-level yachts, the Intermarine 55 is a move into the upper segment of the yacht market for the consultancy. "Intermarine is a famous connoisseur brand with a rich history, and to evolve its design forward with the Intermarine 55 is an honor," said Laurenz Schaffer, President of BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

Trains cancelled over broken-down taxi

TRAINS were cancelled after a taxi carrying the ticket conductors broke down on the way to the station - and health and safety policy bans them walking. London Midland yesterday told passengers it was cancelling two of its services from Birmingham New Street station in the city centre after the breakdown happened during what is usually a short journey by foot from nearby Snow Hill station. However, the rail operator has said its own safety policy bars the uniformed conductors from getting to the station on foot because they are carrying their ticket machines and cash from the days' takings.
