Wed, 15 Jan 2014Press days for the 2014 Detroit auto show wrapped up on Tuesday, and the sum total was more big reveals than we can shake a stick shift at. Production cars included the Ford F-150, Corvette Z06, BMW M3 and M4, Subaru WRX STI and the Porsche 911 Targa, while on the concept front we saw the Toyota FT-1, Nissan Sport Sedan and Kia GT4 Stinger just to name a few. Ford takes to Facebook to sell special model
Tue, 24 Sep 2013FORD HAS TAKEN the unusual step of selling 500 examples of its EcoSport crossover on the social networking site Facebook. Based on the Fiesta, the EcoSport combines elements of the small supermini with a raised ride height, taller body and chunky details to create a compact crossover. Underneath the tough exterior the EcoSport comes with a choice of the impressive 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol or 1.5-litre 90bhp diesel unit.

Thu, 13 Feb 2014THE MET OFFICE has issued a "red" weather warning for exceptionally strong winds in western parts of Wales and north-western parts of England, while the Thames is predicted to rise to its highest level in more than 60 years in some places. On the day dubbed Wild Wednesday, gusts of 108mph hit Aberdaron on the Llyn Peninsula in north west Wales, while 96mph winds were recorded off the south coast of England at the Needles, on the Isle of Wight. The Met Office has forecast 2.75ins (70mm) of rain by Friday in the already-sodden West Country - more than the region would normally get in the whole of February - with south Wales, western Scotland, Northern Ireland and other parts of southern England also expected to bear the brunt of the deluge.
