The 65,000-mile California car is claimed to be “one of the most original 101-series Giulietta Sprints in existence today with all-original interior, mostly original paint, perfect gauges, factory engine-compartment components, no accidents, and straight chrome and trim.” Curiously, the engine and transmission were removed and rebuilt in 1975 but were never reinstalled. And inside that press release was the small gem that the MegaCity part of BMW’s project-i would include drivetrains other than electric.
