Bentley crafts mechanical artwork for Prince's Trust charity auction
Thu, 01 Sep 2011Most of us will never own an ultraluxury car such as a Bentley, but for a slightly lesser price you can still have something built in Crewe. Bentley Motors and its employees from the tooling, woodshop and styling departments have created a range of collector items the will cross the auction block to raise funds for the Prince's Trust charity. The items include Bentley artwork, a chess set and Bentley camshaft lamps.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrives – the quickest production Aston ever (video)
Wed, 29 May 2013The new, more powerful, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrives Aston Martin has been teasing something ‘Coming soon’ for a few days, and here it is – the new V12 Vantage S. The new S replaces the V12 Vantage (which we knew Aston Martin had stopped building) and gets Aston’s latest AM28 version of the venerable V12 with 565bhp and 457lb/ft of torque thanks to new engine management, combustion chambers and camshafts resulting in more power and a much flatter torque curve. The extra power has pushed the V12 S beyond the 200nph barrier, with the top speed now 205mph and, we assume, a quicker sprint to 62mph, but Aston Martin aren’t letting on how much quicker the V12 S is.
Michelin Pilot Super Sport launches
Fri, 26 Nov 2010Ferrari 458 Italia - just one of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport shod Supercars at the launch At the beginning of October – when it was already starting to feel as if we were in mid-winter on some days – the nice man from Michelin (that’s Paul, not the Michelin Man) called and asked us if we’d like to go and play with their new tyre – the Michelin Pilot Super Sport - on some appealing cars. Sadly, too few staff and too much to do meant we had to decline his kind offer. Although it was very hard to do when we realised it would have meant a few days in the sun in Dubai and the chance to drive some of the world’s finest cars, shod with Michelin’s replacement for the Pilot Sport PS2.
