2012 Pinto Stampede to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project

The second-annual Pinto Stampede will take place May 17-20, beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee and ending in Summit Point, W.Va., at the Jefferson 500. For those keeping track, that's 600 miles in a car that some would have you believe is little more than a rolling Molotov cocktail. For the second time, the Pinto Stampede will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that aims to “honor and empower wounded warriors” of the U.S.

This year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este took place over the weekend of 23-35 May. Bathed in spring sunshine, the lawns of the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este played host to the annual gathering of 50 of the world's finest classic and concept cars, and 35 motorbikes. This exhibition proves not only a celebration of the Volkswagen icon, but also an opportunity to learn a little more about one of its exhibitors – Volkswagen Brazil's design director Luiz Veiga. Car Design News attended the opening at OMA – located not far from the VW plant – to talk with Veiga about art and design.
