We have the Hyundai i40 Estate in for review in the guise of the i40 1.7 CRDi 136PS Blue Drive Style Tourer. It’s one thing producing ever more credible small budget cars – and even budget crossovers/SUVs – that become less budget and more competitive with each iteration, but throwing your hat in the ring to take on the Mondeo with the new i40 is a big jump.

Nissan previews Resonance Detroit show concept

Nissan has teased its Resonance crossover concept ahead of its official debut next week in Detroit. The image of the concept, which Nissan says is the latest in a series of crossover designs "fusing bold styling with a hybrid-electric powertrain," shows a sharp flowing character line running along the side as well as the L-shaped LED rear lamps that can be found on the Nissan Juke. We can also see that the Resonance features a floating roof, created by the C-pillar not joining up to the roof but curving down to leave a break to the roof, giving the impression that it is floating over the rear window.

Toyota GT86 Drift Sprint with Keiichi Tsuchiya

The Toyota GT86 gets another dose of ‘Cheap Fun’ PR with the Drift Sprint competition featuring Keiichi Tsuchiya. Keiichi Tsuchiya is the ‘Drift King’ with his Toyota AE86 sliding and squirming in balletic slides as he makes it dance in a way cars just don’t. So it makes sense to get Keiichi Tsuchiya in to the driving seat of the new Toyota GT86 to show that an affordable sports car from Toyota can be a whole bunch of fun in ways that more powerful cars just aren’t.
