Item Description: Fully restored 36hp VJUR4BR8 vacuum advance cast iron distributor for Type 1 Beetle and Karmann Ghia. 10N date code, which is October 1957. Will obviously work on other year 36hp engines as well.  Completely disassembled, media blasted, cleaned, repainted, lubricated, etc. Assembled using new Bosch shims and washers, as well as some other NOS Bosch parts. Some original screws replated, some replaced with new ones. New washers for hardware throughout. Cap clips and brackets were replated. Badge is the early style (non glossy) and is in nice condition.  I upgraded the points plate in this distributor. This is a genuine Bosch replacement part and allows the use of the original "dogleg" style points with eccentric adjusting screw, but also allows for the use of later style replacement points without the dogleg, and provides the two leverage "points" for adjustment. The points plate was plated silver zinc.  NOS Bosch German original dogleg style ponts installed.  NOS Bosch German condenser installed.  NOS Bosch German rotor.  NOS Bosch German distributor cap.  Vacuum canister is an original good, tested, used unit. It has been cleaned, media blasted, and painted with Eastwood Silver Cad paint. I give a 6 month unlimited mileage warranty on the working condition of the vacuum canister.  Also included is the correct color wire that runs from the points post on the distributor to the #1 terminal on the coil. Correct ring type end for the post on the distributor. Buyer can tell me whether they have a screw terminal or push on terminal on their coil and I will install the correct terminal end on the other end of the wire.  Tested on a SUN distributor machine. Mechanical advance is within spec, and a chart of the advance curve will be included. Max vacuum advance of the canister is 5 degrees.  I can include a complete, unbroken metal vaccum line from the vacuum canister to the carburetor for an additional $30. You might need to bend it to make it fit properly. Pics can be provided.

Shipping in the USA is free.

Outside the USA to pay for USPS Priority shipping charges. I only ship internationally using USPS PRIORITY. Insurance costs if requested (for actual sale price) is additional. Customs form will be filled out for the full amount of the sale price.

Regarding "item has been shipped" vs. ACTUAL shipping: If a seller adds a tracking number though eBay, it will tell the buyer that the "item has been shipped", even if the package has not been handed over to the shipper (or won't be for days). This gives a buyer a false sense of expectation on delivery time. I add tracking numbers into the eBay system AFTER the item has been physically delivered to the post office or other shipper, usually within 24 hours after shipping, so you know that the package is actually on the way.

Unless otherwise specified, I will ship within 3 BUSINESS days after payment has been received. Saturdays and Sundays are not business days. I do not charge any additional handling or packing charges, and I combine shipping when possible.
