Offered is an original Zenith Carburetor as assembled on 1928 Model A Fords.  The top and bottom assemblies are matching Zenith with the top with a "Z" on the barrel and the bottom has an "ZENITH" on embossed on it.  This carburetor has been stripped to bare, shiny metal and all passages have been cleared.  It was painted with flat, fuel resistant lacquer, to copy the original flat black (Japan Black) finish.  Correctly assembled per the Judging Standards.  Choke and accelerator levers are forged brass.  The idle air adjustment screw is 3/8"  brass heat with pressed cap.  All jets are the correct original jets with numbers stamped on them for this year and Zenith body, including #19 Compensator jet and #21 Cap jet...neither of these are being reproduced.  The correct jets will cause this carburetor to operate as originally designed.  The float valve has been upgraded to a modern Viton seal, to prevent leaks and the float has been correctly adjusted.  All new gaskets and seals included and installed.  This carburetor is restored to 1928  specifications, but it will operate on any Model A Ford. I do not have a Model A engine to test run it on, so it will need final adjustments including the idle screw and choke driver.

Endurance-drivers seminar highlights Amelia Island concours

Sun, 11 Mar 2012

If there were a Hall of Fame for endurance drivers, the nine gentlemen assembled on Saturday at the 17th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance would certainly be members. Event founder and chairman Bill Warner needed 25 minutes just to read off a portion of their lifetime racing accomplishments as he introduced them individually to a packed ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, home of the event. Hurley Haywood, Vic Elford, Sam Posey, Joe Buzzetta, Gerard Larousse, Brian Redman, Jim Hall, David Hobbs and Derek Bell regaled the audience with tales of their amazing careers.

New 2015 Mazda2 arrives

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

This is the new 2015 Mazda2 (Demio) The new Mazda2 was all but revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March in the guise of the Mazda Hazumi Concept, but now the real new Mazda2 has arrived, or at least it has in Japan. But Mazda are captioning the photos – which are clearly of the Demio – as the Mazda2, so we can be pretty sure not much is going to change when the Demio gets the Mazda2 badge in the UK and Europe. That means the same Kodo design language Mazda has introduced across its range recently with a shield grill flowing in to the headlights, big wheel arches and horizontal lights at the back – all very much like the Hazumi.

Volcanic Ash – bad for your car’s paintwork

Wed, 21 Apr 2010

Volcanic ash on the back of our test Range Rover Sport Who says we don’t do consumer advice at Cars UK? We know that the Government claims every jet will fall out of the sky if they fly with even a cup full of volcanic ash in the atmosphere. The argument goes that all that dust and stone and rubbish will get sucked in to the engines, melt and then solidify to trash the engine.
