Item Description: Fully restored Volkswagen ZV/PAU 4 R2 "Big 40hp" distributor. 4S date code, which is April 1961. Will work on other year 40hp engines too.  Many NOS Bosch German parts were used in this restoration.  NOS Bosch Germany distributor cap. Has never been clamped onto a distributor.  NOS Bosch Germany Rotor. Has never been installed onto a distributor.  NOS Bosch washers and shims for distributor shaft. The only washer that is a used washer is the special fiber washer that is visible under the points plate. This washer does not come in a distributor rebuild kit.  NOS Bosch Germany points plate assembly, which includes NOS points and NOS condenser, and all correct wiring. Due to age and storage related dust and dirt, the points plate was disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and lubricated, and then put back together and installed. Vacuum canister is excellent condition used. This was in better cosmetic condition than the NOS replacement canisters I have, so I decided to install the used one instead. I give an unlimited mileage 6 month warranty on the used vacuum canister.  Hardware has been replated or replaced with new correct thread and head style hardware (I greatly prefer to re-use original hardware, but that's not always possible). Lower vents have been removed, thoroughly cleaned, replated and reinstalled. Cap clips have been replated, but the brackets for them have not been. They were in very nice original condition, so I left them alone.  Comes with o-ring for installation (not pictured).  Advance has been checked on a SUN distributor tester, and a chart of the advance curve will be included with purchase.  This is ready to install, set the timing, and drive.

Shipping in the USA is free.

Outside the USA to pay for USPS Priority shipping charges. I only ship internationally using USPS PRIORITY. Insurance costs if requested (for actual sale price) is additional. Customs form will be filled out for the full amount of the sale price.

Regarding "item has been shipped" vs. ACTUAL shipping: If a seller adds a tracking number though eBay, it will tell the buyer that the "item has been shipped", even if the package has not been handed over to the shipper (or won't be for days). This gives a buyer a false sense of expectation on delivery time. I add tracking numbers into the eBay system AFTER the item has been physically delivered to the post office or other shipper, usually within 24 hours after shipping, so you know that the package is actually on the way.

Unless otherwise specified, I will ship within 3 BUSINESS days after payment has been received. Saturdays and Sundays are not business days. I do not charge any additional handling or packing charges, and I combine shipping when possible.
