CAR interviews BMW design chief Adrian van Hooydonk (2009)

Tue, 03 Nov 2009

Judging by the Vision EfficientDynamics concept it looks like you were on that trip? Adrian van Hooydonk: I didn’t go along but in the recent past our designers have experimented with a lot of things – folded metal, folded paper, even plywood – and on this concept car maybe all of that came to fruition.

New Ford Mondeo to get new 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The new engine will be built by Ford In Romania initially (although it will get churned out elsewhere too in due course) and offers turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing.

For you engineers, the boosted four gets a high-tumble intake port, which cuts down on air turbulence, fan spray fuel injection, variable-valve timing and a cylinder head-integrated exhaust manifold.
