Lotus Evora Freddie Mercury Edition. Yes, really
Fri, 02 Sep 2011Lotus Evora Freddie Mercury Edition We really weren’t too sure when we got a press release drop in that said “Another Lotus Bites The Dust…” and then went on to say that Lotus are building a one-off Lotus Evora S Freddie Mercury Edition to be auctioned for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. We thought it was a spoof. We decided it was almost certainly a spoof when the press release went on to say that the Freddie Mercury Edition Evora “…represents a kind of magic” and that the white, red and gold colour scheme was “…inspired by the iconic costume Freddie wore for the 1986 Magic tour”.
Toyoya iQ Collection & iQ for Sports at Frankfurt
Mon, 21 Sep 2009The 'Customised' Toyota iQ for Sports Toyota claim the iQ is the world’s smallest 4 seater production car – and the may well be right. It is certainly a tiny car – but very cleverly packaged – and is in many ways the perfect city car, if a tad on the expensive side. So cleverly packaged is the iQ that Aston Martin have used it for the Cygnet, and rumour has it that BMW will use it for the i-setta range.
2012 Ford Focus ST gets 297bhp
Fri, 30 Nov 2012Those clever chaps at SuperChips have given the 2012 Ford Focus ST a bit of an ECU tweak to deliver 297bhp and an extra 85lb/ft of torque. When we reported last week that WTC outfit Arena had in roped Ford’s tuner of choice, Mountune, to give the new Ford Focus a makeover, we were a tad disappointed to discover that they were tweaking the rather journeyman Focus Zetec S. That meant the Zetec S got 200bhp – a handy jump – but we bemoaned the fact that they hadn’t fiddled with the Focus ST to give us a car to fill the void left by the absence of a Focus RS in the current iteration of the Focus.
