Car ban hits drivers in polluted Paris
Mon, 17 Mar 2014The French government has imposed a ban on driving cars in Paris to help reduce the growing pollution problem in the country’s capital that’s spiralling out of control. From today, Monday 17 March 2014, drivers with ‘odd’ and ‘even’ registration plates will only be allowed to drive in the city every other day respectively. This could cut the amount of traffic in the city by half overnight - although reports suggest many drivers plan to flout the rules and swallow the 22-euro fine for breaking the new regulations.
Car makers shun Detroit show NAIAS 2009
Thu, 27 Nov 2008By Simon Stiel Motor Shows 27 November 2008 11:28 The number of car makers pulling out of Detroit's major auto show, the North American International Auto Show 2009, is growing. In the past weeks, Ferrari, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Suzuki have announced their withdrawal from the show, which is scheduled to begin on 11 January 2009.
Infiniti JX
Wed, 20 Apr 2011Shanghai and New York aren't even over yet, but that hasn't stopped Infiniti releasing this teaser sketch of the car it plans to show at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this coming August. The JX luxury crossover carries styling cues 'such as dynamic and elegant line treatments' over from other Infiniti production models, whilst also drawing from the Essence concept car, sporting the 'crescent cut' greenhouse treatment. Billed as the antidote to 'ho-hum' luxury crossovers, the seven seat JX is said to offer 'exceptional seating flexibility, easy access to the roomy third row, plus the latest in-vehicle technology - challenging the status quo in its class'.
