Help Carr Magazine produce its next issue with Kickstarter
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Carr Magazine, the insider publication for the car design community, is reaching out via its Kickstarter campaign to fund its fifth issue. Carr has always prided itself on ad-free pages and continual focus on the future of car design but to do this needs some help from its readers as the team looks to improve its circulation and bolster content. Their previous methods of content collection, publication and distribution have occasionally been hampered by purposefully small team but with this campaign they are aiming to produce more of the same quality content and distribute it faster and more efficiently to their truly global audience.
Lotus Exige S Roadster Official: Price (£52,800) and Specs
Wed, 22 May 2013It’s the first properly good news from Lotus for a while, and looks a promising offering at the same price (£52,800) as the tin top Exige S and, remarkably for a convertible, actually weighing less than the hard top – although by only 10kg. The Exige S Roadster gets the same 3.5 litre V6 as the coupe which means 345bhp, 295lb/ft of torque and a 0-60mph of a very respectable 3.8 seconds, but it does lose the coupe’s rear wing and front splitter for better airflow. The folding roof on the Roadster is a manual affair, but Lotus say fresh air motoring is just ‘Two clicks and a roll away’, so the manual roof is probably the best – and lightest – option.
Jaguar XE / Jaguar F-Type spied
Thu, 23 Jun 2011Jaguar XE Spied - looking like a chopped XK To be honest, we don’t even know now whether Jaguar will call their new, smaller sports car the Jaguar XE or Jaguar F-Type, as there’s talk of them ditching the iconic Jaguar badging in favour of a Germanic numbers-based moniker across the range. But whatever Jaguar do finally decide to call their new small sports car, we know it’s officially in the planning and has been for more than a year. And now it’s out playing, albeit wrapped up in a chopped XK.
