Government launches CO2 website

By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 03 August 2007 09:56 Just as CAR Online has launched its Green cars section so the government has stepped up its ‘Act on CO2’ campaign. Earlier this week, at the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd) HQ in London, Transport Minister Jim Fitzpatrick unveiled the Department of Transport’s online ‘Best on CO2’ car rankings. The new website - www.dft.gov.uk/ActOnCO2 - lists all the cars on sale.

Mini One Clubman to launch at Geneva

The Mini story continues, with the announcement that a new entry-level Clubman, the Mini One Clubman, is to launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The Mini One Clubman comes with the same 1.4 litre engine as the Mini One, producing 95bhp and boasting the same suspension set-up as the Mini Coopers, which at least means the new Clubman One should be fun to throw around. Cadillac ConverJ unveiled at Detroit auto show 2009

The Cadillac ConverJ is an electric-powered limousine not seen until press day, harnessing the same plug-in hybrid tech as the Chevy Volt. GM product overlord and everyone’s favourite sound-bite merchant Bob Lutz said the Volt’s drivetrain had been renamed the Voltec system and it was this lithium-ion battery set-up that underpinned the ConverJ concept car.
