Malcontent growing over lack of roads policing
Thu, 07 Aug 2014MOTORISTS are not just frustrated by the lack of police presence on Britain’s roads – they now believe there is little chance of law-breakers being caught and prosecuted. The RAC Report on Motoring 2014 reveals many motorists in 21st century Britain think there is little risk of being caught breaking the law at the wheel. Two in five drivers (40%) believe anyone committing common offences such as texting at the wheel of either a moving or stationary vehicle, aggressive driving, tailgating, middle lane hogging on the motorway or undertaking would more than likely get away with it.
Rearview cameras may become mandatory
Fri, 02 Mar 2012Rearview cameras may become a mandatory feature in all passenger cars by 2014 if US Congress approves a rule submitted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Auto safety regulators have taken the decision to submit a final rule to Congress after figures emerged from non-profit group KidsandCars.org that stated that two children die and about 50 are injured every week when someone accidentally backs over them in a vehicle. In one quite shocking public-service announcement KidsAndCars.org showed that 62 children could fit behind a large SUV without being visible to the driver in any of the mirrors.

Thu, 21 Nov 2013Jaguar F-Type Coupe glitzy L.A. debut Jaguar promised the new F-Type Coupe would get a proper high-profile reveal on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and they certainly delivered. Jaguar’s design guru – Ian Callum – had told Jaguar’s PR people that he wanted the debut to be at speed, and that was achieved by driving the F-Type Coupe in to a specially prepared warehouse in California at 100mph, cutting a swathe through a series of sharp spotlights as the F-Type arrived in the arena.
