Daimler takes 10 percent stake in EV maker Tesla
Tue, 19 May 2009Daimler AG has acquired an equity stake of nearly 10 percent of California electric car maker Tesla Motors Inc., the German automaker said Tuesday. The two companies have been working together to integrate Tesla's lithium-ion battery packs and charging electronics into the first 1,000 units of Daimler's electric Smart car. Daimler said its stake in Tesla will allow the companies to collaborate even more closely on the development of battery systems, electric drive systems and in individual vehicle projects.
Ferrari FF: More Pictures!
Sun, 06 Feb 2011Ferrari has revealed more pictures of the FF, the shooting-brake-styled supercar set to debut at the Geneva motor show. These shots show the 651-hp, V12-powered speed demon frolicking in the snow, where it's putting Ferrari's first-ever all-wheel-drive system to good use. The four-seater replaces the venerable 612 Scaglietti and is expected to arrive in the fall.

Fri, 27 Nov 2009The last Horch built, found in the middle of Texas It’s been looking likely for a while that now VW has taken control of Porsche it may decide to rebrand the VW Group as Auto Union. Auto Union was the root of Audi, and was formed in the ’30s when Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer joined forces to become Auto Union and pool their resources to cope with the depression (sound familiar?). Which might explain why Audi has been scouring the planet for rare cars from its Auto Union days.
