Need for Speed Ford Mustang sells for $300,000

The 900hp Ford Mustang GT as seen in the latest Need for Speed movie has sold at an auction in the US for $300,000 – that’s roughly £180,000. Unfortunately, the winning bidder might be disappointed to find out that in real life it doesn’t make anywhere near the 900hp claimed in the film, instead running a stock 420hp. TVR sale latest

Administrator PKF (UK) LLP has spent the past month clarifying the assets of Blackpool Automotive Ltd, the company that ran the Blackpool factory, and it in fact holds several trump cards that could prevent the Russian owner switching production overseas. The sale advert in the Financial Times reveals that Blackpool Automotive controls the TVR trademark in Europe and the US, as well as all the intellectual property rights and tooling for the sports cars.

GM expands recall for deadly ignition issue

GM is expanding its ignition recall from earlier this month to include 2003-2007 model year Saturn Ions, 2006-2007 Chevy HHRs and 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky models. The total number of cars affected in the U.S. has reached 1,367,146.
