S&S Super Stock Crankcases for Harley 1991-03 Sportster XL

Product Description:

S&S recommends using the 1986–'90 cam chest, tappets, and cover. This style of tappet, which is the same one used in Evolution big twin engines, has a larger roller and has proven to be more reliable in high performance applications.

Crankcases machined for five speed cam geometry require 1991–2003 style cams and 1991–'96 gearcover.

Unlike stock five speed crankcases, S&S cases with 1991–'03 style cam geometry feature special removable billet aluminum tappet guides which allow the use of 1986–'90 style pushrod covers. These tappet guides provide a replaceable wear area for tappet travel, and two piece pushrod covers allow access to adjustable pushrods normally used in high performance applications.

All S&S crankcases for Sportster and Buell models can be used with any stock 1986–up style oil pump, and require a 1986–'90 style oil filter mount assembly.

In addition to the complete compliment of hardware and fittings, S&S crankcases also include an S&S heavy duty transmission access door.

The S&S transmission door provides a seal between the primary case and the transmission, allowing the use of different lubricants in each section. A simple modification allows the primary case and transmission to share the same oil.

The transmission door is complete with required bearings and bushings installed. Right side transmission case bearings are also installed and ready for assembly.

Return Policy

If an item is delivered damaged or defective please keep all packaging and contact us immediately. Returns or exchanges of brand new, unopened, completely factory sealed products are welcome within 30 days of delivery date. Unless an item is deemed by the manufacturer to be defective, we do not accept any returns on used items. This includes but is not limited to items showing signs of installation or attempted/improper installation (mounting marks, scratches, scuffs), mounted tires/wheels, windshields, discolored exhaust, programmed fuel tuners, bluetooth/communication devices, apparel, items installed contrary to manufacturers specifications, seats, etc. All products are warranted against manufacturers defects. Many of our manufacturers handle claims directly to speed up the process of exchange or sending replacement parts. Because issues are often solved over the phone via tech support, please call the manufacturer first. Defective or damaged items will be exchanged or a full refund will be issued if the item is no longer available. Maserati Merak - by Giugiaro Perhaps it makes sense politically for an Italian company to takeover another, but the outcome is the same – VW has taken a majority stake in Italdesign Giugiaro – 90.1% – through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini Holdings S.p.A. Just as we expected. And there’s a lot of sense in this move by VW – even if they are going back on their stated intent to end the acquisitions – as there’s a strong history with Giugiaro.

Toyota Yaris Hybrid - a preview of the next-gen Yaris Toyota are determined to shove hybrid gubbins in anything they build that moves, so we now get a hybrid version of the next generation Yaris revealed at Geneva. Just as Toyota aren’t saying if the new Prius+ will get the regular 1.8 litre hybrid drivetrain (we think it will), they’re also not saying if the Toyota Yaris Hybrid will get it. We’re assuming not, because it would then out-perform both the Prius and the Auris Hybrid, which would never do.

GM announces pricing for 2014 pickups

The redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups go on sale this spring with V8 engines that General Motors claims will get slightly better fuel economy than the rival Ford F-150 equipped with a turbocharged V6. Chevrolet is holding the base sticker price on the 2014 Silverados to the same as that of the 2013 models. This means a rear-drive 2014 Silverado with the base V6 engine will sticker at $24,585, although that model won't be in dealerships until this summer.
