NEW FROM BIG DOG MOTORCYCLE COMPANY............

NEW S&S SIDEWINDER VALVE SPRING KIT. PART # 90-2069 OR BIG DOG # 103-000057-00. FITMENT IS FOR 1984-2004 BIG TWINS, 1986-2003 SPORTSTER.

  • Kits are designed to simplify high-lift cam installation and increase spring force to reduce the risk of valve float
  • Eliminates most of the complicated procedures and specialized tools required to prepare cylinder heads for high lift cams
  • Sidewinder springs can offer high RPM capability with less spring pressure because they do not add as much mass to the valve train as multi-coil spring packs. Less mass means that the
  • valve train does not take as much of a beating at high RPM, since the valve springs do not have to exert as much force in order to control the valves. Lower spring force results in reduced
  • valve train noise, increased valve stability and longer valve train component life

  • Kit contains 4 valve springs with 4 top collars, 4 bottom collars, 8 valve keepers and 8 valve spring shims (4 each of .015 and .030)
Specifications: .585 lift, 1.800 installed height, 125 lb seat force, 332 lb force at max lift and 6500 max RPM
Fits 86-03 Sportster; 84-04 Big Twin models
Note: Confirming critical clearance remains the responsibility of the engine builder.

Chevrolet Volt prices announced

Wed, 28 Jul 2010

GM has revealed that the Volt hybrid could cost $33,500 (£21,000) in the US after government tax credits, making it nearly £2000 cheaper than Nissan’s Leaf electric car. The Volt’s List price is $41,000 (£26,300) but qualifies for a subsidy thanks to its low emissions. A basic Volt comes with Bluetooth and sat-nav but buyers can add leather seats and steering wheel, heated seats, rear camera, polished wheels and park assist.

Rosberg & Hamilton make it a Mercedes front row: Spanish Grand Prix (2013)

Sat, 11 May 2013

Maybe Lewis Hamilton wasn’t as daft as we all thought jumping ship from McLaren and heading off to Mercedes F1. When we all thought the Mercedes F1 team didn’t have a chance of doing anything special in 2013, Hamilton and Rosberg have proved the 2013 car is a strong contender, and in final qualifying for tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix they’ve locked out the front row. Hamilton’s team mate Rosberg beat him to pole position – his second pole in a row – with Red Bull’s Vettel having to settle for third place alongside Kimi Raikkonen’s Lotus.

BMW X1 gets updated for 2014

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

The 2014 BMW X1 (pictured) gets a tweaked front end The BMW X1 arrived back in 2009 as a high-riding Sports Activity Vehicle (BMW’s preferred description for their compact SUV come crossover) and had a bit of a facelift for 2012 to keep it fresh. Now, two years on from the last facelift, BMW has decided they need to up the ante a little (especially with more competition arriving in the shape of the new Mercedes GLA) so the BMW X1 is getting a mild makeover for 2014. The only real changes you’ll notice are tweaks to the front end of the X1 with new accents on the bumper and a bigger air intake, daytime running lights across the X1 range, new 17″ alloys and the availability of Sparkling Brown metallic to the paint colour options.
