There is layer upon layer of intricate detail in the movie Cars 2, the sequel to the successful 2006 Pixar release Cars. So much detail, in fact, that you might want to wait until the DVD comes out so that you can freeze the frames and pick out all of the subtle automotive styling cues that abound within. Timeless Chrysler classics debut at Amelia Island

Three decades of Chrysler concept cars from the '40s, '50s and '60s will be on display at the 19th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance on March 9. The Thunderbolt roadster and Newport will be on hand to show off design elements inspired by the land-speed record duals of the 1930s in Bonneville. The Thunderbolt is being presented on behalf of the Driehaus Collection and the Newport will be provide by The National Automotive Museum of Reno, Nev.

The MG Icon concept will be unveiled at the Beijing motor show next week in order to test public reaction to a small crossover, as well as suggesting a new design direction for the brand. Similar in size to the Nissan Juke, the Icon – as its name suggests – plays on MG's back catalogue of classic cars, something the company hasn't done since its takeover by Nanjing and subsequently SAIC in 2005. Despite clearly different proportions the Icon pays homage to the MGB GT sports coupe via its lamp and grille graphics, bumper overriders and fastback tailgate.
