Mercedes Vito London Taxi comes out fighting
Tue, 07 Aug 2012Mercedes has come out fighting against the Nissan NV200 London Taxi with an assertion of the benefits of the Mercedes Vito Taxi. Yesterday we had the news that Nissan, not content with just undermining the Crown Victoria as the NYC Yellow Cab, have turned their attention to the London Taxi with their NV200 take on the Black Cab. So far, LTI hasn’t responded to the imminent threat to their business from Nissan (but then they still haven’t really reacted to Mercedes entry in to the market), but Mercedes has, coming out fighting this morning with a press release extolling the virtues of the Vito Taxi.
Goodwood Festival of Speed (2013) the cars of GFoS
Wed, 10 Jul 2013If you’re one of the 150,000 expected visitors at Goodwood for the Festival of Speed this weekend, you’ll be among the first to see a wealth of new performance cars in action on Lord March’s drive. Here’s the full round up of confirmed attendees with links to CAR’s full stories – which are you most excited to see (and hear)? Audi’s Le Mans-winning R18 E-tron Quattro will be driven up the hill by 2013 race winner Allan McNish – check out his pre-Le Mans interview with CAR here.
2010 Ferrari F1 Goodwood hillcimb (video)
Sun, 03 Jul 2011Marc Gene takes the 2010 Ferrari F1 (F10) up the Goodwood Hillclimb 2011 Goodwood is Disneyland for petrolheads, with the world’s greatest cars and greatest drivers wallowing in three days of high-octane worship at the alter of the internal combustion engine. Everything from classic road cars to the latest F1 machinery crowd in to this glorious corner of England, safe in the knowledge that they are among friends; no global-warmists here wagging a condemnatory finger. We’ll have a full round-up of the Goodwood Festival of Speed tomorrow – with a million photos – but as Ferrari has sent us video of Marc Gene taking last year’s Ferrai F1 (F10) car up the Goodwood hillclimb we thought it deserved some space all its own.
