Thanks for visiting our listing. We may be new to E-bay, but we're very well established in the Rx-7 community. Our passenger footrest is constructed from aluminum, with a semi rough finish and provides support for the passengers feet while adding a stylish touch to the interior. Our design was based off the OEM Spirit R footrests found on right hand drive Mazda RX-7's.

Anyone who has been in the passenger seat of the FD3S realizes the passenger foot well does not provide any support for your feet. Mazda was kind enough to provide a passenger grab handle for the 255hp FD, but when they upped the power to 280hp for the Spirit R and RZ models in Japan, they realized that passengers would have a much harder time staying in place hence the creation of the passenger foot rest/brace. Unfortunately Mazda only made these for Japan-only RHD FD’s for the high-power variants. As we know many FD’s in the states make much more than 280hp!! Not only are the RHD footrests extremely rare in Japan, they also will not fit the LHD footwell. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send us a message.

Features:
  • Aluminum construction - lightweight and strong
  • Easily removable to clean floor mats
  • Hole pattern and texture closely match the rare RHD Spirit R/RZ version, but for LHD cars
  • Rough textured surface provides great grip for shoes (for your track instructor), but will not snag stockings (for your lady friend with her heels off )
  • Mounting hardware included along with a brushed aluminum SBG sticker
  • Made in the USA!

We asked him if Infiniti could tap into the existing products at Nissan and nab the brilliant GT-R sports car platform for a high-performance Infiniti.

CAR interviews Mazda design chief Ikuo Maeda (2010)

Thu, 02 Sep 2010

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 02 September 2010 13:30 CAR has been out to Italy to see the world premier of the new Mazda Shinari concept car. It's the car that ushers in chief designer Ikuo Maeda's new Kodo design mantra, a sharper, faster stylistic treatment that will take over from Laurens van den Acker's Nagare vision. Maeda is the first Japanese design boss for a generation – it seems that Mazda has looked within after a series of European creative brains who each stayed for five years or less, arguably not long enough to see through any substantial aesthetic change.
