The Sunday concours, which had BMW as the honored marque, wrapped up a weeklong event that included the Savannah Speed Classic vintage races in nearby Savannah, Ga., a tour around Hilton Head by concours entrants, a Motoring Midway and a Car Club Jamboree on Saturday featuring exhibits from car clubs from around the country. The 328 Roadster was first owned by German race driver Baron Fritz Huschke von Hanstein and is one of only 18 cars that were painted black that year.
College Exhibition: RCA/GM - Fast Forward 2049
Wed, 06 May 2009First year students at the Royal College of Art recently held an exhibition at the London Transport Museum commemorating the 40th anniversary of the school's vehicle design course. Sponsored by GM's Opel/Vauxhall division, 19 students responded to a brief that called for them to ‘Fast Forward into the Future'. Divided into three groups - Inside Out, Urban Flow and Automark - the students devised their own notions of vehicles for the year 2049, and in some cases entirely reinvented Opel brand values and aesthetics.
2013 Subaru Forester revealed
Thu, 01 Nov 2012The new Subaru Forester – a 2014 Forester for the US – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show this month. The Forester still looks like a Forester although it is a bit longer, wider and taller and gets a longer wheelbase which, say Subaru, means more space in the back seats and more room ion the boot. There are cosmetic tweaks with a crease running down the flanks under the window line, a new grill and bumpers, new alloys and a more slick feel to the looks. There’s extra toys too with a new Infotainment centre with smartphone integration, SatNav with reversing camera and a nice upmarket Harmon Kardon sound system.
