GM sued for not recalling nonpolice Chevrolet Impalas to fix spindle rods
Wed, 06 Jul 2011General Motors has been sued by the owner of a Chevrolet Impala who claims the company recalled police versions of the sedan to fix a tire-wear issue but did not recall civilian Impalas for the same problem. According to the suit, filed in Detroit, GM issued a recall for police Impalas in 2008 for faulty spindle rods, which misaligned the rear wheels and led to premature tire wear. GM told dealers to replace the spindle rods, realign the rear wheels and replace the tires.
The next McLaren supercar will be called the 650S
Wed, 12 Feb 2014We've known that McLaren has a pair of additional models in the works, including a Porsche 911-fighting, 12C-based sports car known only as the P13 and another car positioned between the 12C and the P1. Previously, we'd heard the code name “P15” tossed around in reference to that latter car, but McLaren has officially christened it the 650S ahead of its world debut at the upcoming Geneva motor show. According to the automaker, the 650S “takes learnings from both the 12C as well as the sell-out McLaren P1 [ed note: there has to be a better way to say that] and will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive's supercar grid.“ We liked the 12C, and we really, really liked the P1.
Ford Start Concept – Beijing
Thu, 22 Apr 2010Ford will unveil the Start Concept - a global city car - at the Beijing Motor Show We really didn’t see this coming – at least not yet – but Ford have pulled off a surprise ahead of the Beijing Motor Show by unveiling a Global City Car – the Ford Start Concept. We’re pretty sure this really is just a concept – although no doubt a direction pointer for Ford’s aspirations - but the 3-pot Ecoboost engine in the Ford Start is definitely not a concept engine. We’ll start with the engine in the Ford Start.
