H-series bearings have a medium level of eccentricity, high crush and rod bearings have a hardened steel back and thin overlay. These bearings also have enlarged chamfers for greater crankshaft fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. These bearings were developed primarily for use in NASCAR type racing but are suitable for all types of competition engines.

The Audi A3 1.6TDI - one of a range of A3s featuring the new 1.6 litre diesel from Audi Audi has announced that they are introducing a new 1.6 litre common rail diesel engine across the A3 range, which will oust the old A3 1.9TDIe and the A3 and Cabriolet 1.9 TDI. The new engine offers the same 104bhp as the old 1.9 litre unit, but manages to improve economy by over 8% to 68.9mpg and cuts CO2 to 109g/km. The new A3 gets stop-start and energy regeneration to achieve the same performance and power from the smaller engine.

Citroen DS3 UK Details & Prices We brought news of the Citroen DS3 Racing back in February and now, some six months on, Citroen has got round to sending us some concrete details and UK prices. Which are a bit of a surprise. The Citroen DS3 Racing is going to cost a hefty £23,100 (which as it won’t be hitting customers until early 2011 does include VAT at 20% – still steep though) when it arrives in 2011.

DRIVERS are as much distracted by "old technology" as by new gadgets, according to a survey. Adult passengers, twiddling with the radio and children in the car were the main distractions causing either a near-miss or an accident, the poll of more than 18,000 motorists found. These three distractions came ahead of operating the sat-nav and talking on a mobile phone as the biggest reasons for lack of driver attention.
