PURCHASER TO RECEIVE: One first quality SBC balanced and assembled long block in 427 c.i. displacement utilizing a new aftermarket performance DART block (upgrade to 441ci or 454 ci for only $995 additional), Molnar 4340 stroker connecting rods, Racetec/Autotec custom forged pistons, Total Seal plasma moly rings, and premium Calico coated King bearings. Also included at the buy it now price is a set of custom high flow DART cylinder heads assembled with stainless valves, and hardened retainers that are torqued onto the 427 or 441 or 454 short block using premium ARP fasteners and premium head gaskets. Engine will be pump gas friendly, you may upgrade compression ratio for race gas/alcohol. Also included at the buy it now price is a custom grind Competition Cam flat tappet camshaft and Cloyes double roller timing set. Important: This custom motor is also available as a more complete long block including rocker arms, lifters, intake manifold, oil pan, timing cover and other components such as ignition and carburetor. You may choose this additional components to your specification along with choosing your custom cam specs and cylinder head specifications intake runner size and other options. Wed, 02 Sep 2009Subaru has launched the Impreza Diesel in the UK The Impreza is a great car, and slotting in the 2.0-litre Boxer Diesel is a move designed to get the Impreza a whole new market, especially as it’s coming in at a round decent Golf money – a nice round £20,000 for the Impreza 2.0D RC. The 2.0 litre boxer diesel outputs 150bhp and 258lb/ft of torque, and can do 0-60 mph in 8.8 seconds and on to 127 mph. It does 47.1 mpg and emits 155g/km CO2.
Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car revealed
Wed, 10 Feb 2010Porsche will bring its latest hybrid know-how to the racetrack in the form of the new 911 GT3 R Hybrid, revealed here for the first time prior to a planned public premiere at the Geneva auto show in early March. Developed by a team of engineers at Porsche's Weissach R&D center, Porsche plans for the stripped-out race car to act as a rolling laboratory. The German carmaker wants to explore the potential of hybrid drivetrains in a racing environment before an expected announcement that it will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a factory capacity, perhaps in 2012, with a race car boasting technology based on that used in the 911 GT3 R Hybrid.
