Infiniti Emerg-e at 2012 Geneva motor show
Mon, 05 Mar 2012Infiniti is ramping up the interest factor with the new Emerg-e hybrid sports car concept at the 2012 Geneva motor show. Imagine an Alfa Romeo 4C pepped up with a range-extender powertrain and you're not far from the truth. The Infiniti Emerg-e is a stunning little coupe, which draws on the 2009 Infiniti Essence supercar for inspiration.
Lexus CT 200h: The emissions
Mon, 13 Sep 2010Teh Lexus CT 200h has emissions of just 96g/km We have to go with the flow on this because, although we have no faith in the assertion that man is responsible for climate change, for as long as Governments penalise and promote cars based on the emissions of CO2 from their tailpipe (I know, it’s barking) we have to accept that car makers will respond to that stick and carrot. Which is why we see a raft of car makers churning out ‘Eco’ cars with a 99g/km emissions figure, as sub-100g/km of CO2 emissions is the Holy Grail for maximising tax effiecencies. Of course, Lexus has gone a step further and seem intent on producing only hybrid cars as soon as possible.
Volkswagen debuts tuned Jettas for SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013It's easy to get the impression that SEMA is all about unattainable and outlandish show cars, ones that will never see the street, but in reality there is plenty of iron (or carbon fiber really) from all sides of all ponds that we could see people driving on the street. And just to reinforce that point, Volkswagen has brought a couple of tuned Jettas to SEMA that could almost pass for stock cars. This being SEMA, all that really means is that you're not looking hard enough -- the subtle cars you see are probably sleepers.
