Collector electrifies a 1955 LaSalle Roadster

Just months after Joe Bortz's unveiling of the restored 1955 Chevrolet Biscayne, the auto archeologist and collector is moving into the second phase of restoration with another General Motors Motorama concept car: the 1955 LaSalle Roadster. But here's the key difference--the LaSalle is going electric. As the LaSalle's motor was never completed, the roadster is considered a “push mobile.” To prepare the car so that it can be driven--rather than pushed--on the road, Bortz has teamed up with Pioneer Conversions, an Illinois business focusing in the electric conversion of various vehicles.

MINI Countryman Coupe to be the MINI Paceman after all

MINI has revealed that the MINI Paceman Concept which we thought was going to hit production as the MINI Countryman Coupe will be the Paceman after all. There was always little chance that the MINI Paceman – a two door Countryman Coupe first seen at Detroit last year – was doing anything other than heading for production. Pforzheim University Winter Degree Show 2010

Pforzheim University held its winter degree show earlier this month, taking over the Congresshall complex in downtown Pforzheim again, rather than the school itself, which is situated on the outskirts of the town. The German school's exhibition covered projects from five graduating Masters' students and eight BA students, with an increasing number of interior projects being tackled, especially by MA students. The exhibition also included work from first-semester Masters students for a vehicle for the nearby spa town of Bad Herrenalb , as well as a 'My First Mercedes' project from fourth and sixth semester undergraduates.
