Condition:New Brand:Scootworks Manufacturer Part Number:ChopPac-BL

This is our latest addition to our Tour Pack lineup. These are hand laid & pressed fiberglass, manufactured at our shop in Zebulon NC USA, not heavy chopper-gun or molded plastic construction like most others. If you're looking for the cheapest plastic crap from China, this isn't for you. These are each hand built to order, the absolute highest quality, works of art...check the bagger forums. We build for many shops and lots of high end custom builders. As opposed to the plastic junk that is molded in literally seconds and requires piles of bodywork, these each require at least 7 days of human labor in construction. The lids have an extended rain drip, the interior is sprayed with a matte black finish, and the lid seal is installed. The bottom is a reinforced flat bottom for installation on any type of mount. We use our exclusive stainless steel hinges with welded hinge pins, and chrome plated double locking latches. The lid is secured in the open position with a custom stainless steel lanyard with rubberized covering for a "no rattle" system. This black version is manufactured with a Vivid Black gelcoat exterior. TAKE NOTE, these come assembled... all 89 pieces of hardware are hand fitted, drilled, and assembled in the CORRECT locations. Our plastic competition sends you a box of plastic junk, bags of hardware and pages of instructions for YOU to figure out where to drill holes and how to assemble it. OK, on to the dimensions...

Height at the rear of the ChoptPac is 5-1/2", height at the front is 7", and the max height in the center front is 8". Unlike our competition, our ChoptPac can handle a couple of 1/2 lids and still close the lid. We worked many hours on this!

The ChoptPac for sale in this listing has a Vivid Black gelcoat finish, chrome hardware, and the optional custom built Down-N-Dirty backrest seen in the photos from HighRollers Motorcycle Seats.

Be aware of the current typical build time is approx 3 weeks. Shipping is free to any USA address or US APO.

**NOTE**, this is just one variation of our custom tour pack builds. We offer the ChoptPac with a primer finish for painting, or a Vivid Black gelcoat finish (seen in the pics above). The hardware can be supplied with chrome latches as seen in the pics above, or with black hardware at no extra cost. The ChoptPac can be built with the standard RH open for the lid, or we offer our reverse build (only available from us!) for bikes with a center stand or trike, so the lid is easily opened from the LH side when you step off of the bike (no extra cost). The interior is available un-carpeted with a matte black finish (standard), with black interior carpet in the bottom ($50), or with carpet in bottom and lid ($80).

- The base model is finished in automotive primer, cost is $450 shipped in the USA.

- The Vivid Black gelcoat version is $500 shipped in the USA.

- We can build this with black hardware at no extra cost.

- Our Interior carpet is $50 installed in the bottom, $80 installed in the bottom and top. Most customers only carpet the bottom.

- We offer a "reverse build". Our molds and part accommodate this, and can only be done by us. This is for bikes that use a center stand (don't lean to the left) and trikes. It allows you to step off the bike on the LH side, and immediately open your pack... as opposed to ALL the others that require you to walk around the bike to open the pack. No extra cost during the custom build!

- All of our packs have an OSB reinforced bottom...no metal internal plate required to prevent the bottom from cracking out, like HD and all of the plastic junk requires!

- We can custom build for speakers upon request

- The lightest packs in the biz, and the strongest!

**Note, backrest NOT included in the base model. It _is_ included in this particular listing. I know, the plastic junk out there sends you their plastic backrest, but again...this system is not for the cheapskates out there. If you're building a $40k+ bike, don't cheap out on the pack and backrest and put junk on it. The forums are full of bikes with the plastic packs breaking out at the bottom, literally falling off while on rides, etc. Like our pack, we sell the top-of-the-line  "Down-n-Dirty" custom backrest by HighRollers MC Seats (seen in many bagger mags on custom bikes every month). The cost of that is $175. Our pack is also compatible with the H-D mini-backrests.

One Lap of the Web: Fake movie cars, Russian dash cams and 'Forza'

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- We all know most movie cars can be fake, but some are a step above the rest.

Why the BMW M4 is better than the M3 V8 (2013)

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

It’s no exaggeration to say that the turbocharged engine in the upcoming BMW M3 (saloon) and M4 (coupe) models is one of the most important engines ever produced by BMW’s M Division. No, it’s not the first turbo lump the performance off-shoot has built – you'll probably know we’ve already had the X5/X6M mutants plus the brilliant 1M and M5 and M6 – but it is the first turbo ever to slot in a production M3, the car that personifies BMW’s iconic performance sub brand, which itself has always been defined by high-revving, naturally aspirated engines. All of this explains why M’s engineers have cut their teeth on other engines first before plucking up the courage to develop the M3/M4 turbo while turning their backs on the outgoing E92 M3’s exceptional V8.
