Developed in conjunction with automotive design research consultancy Car Men, it is a unique CDN member service created specifically as a visual benchmarking tool for design studios and consultancies who require directly comparable photos of production cars. Caterham R300 Superlight unveiled

Powered by a 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine, tweaked by Caterham Powertrain to produce 175bhp, the new R300 will sprint to 60mph in 4.5 seconds. The new R300 weighs a mere 515kg, just 15kg more than CAR’s long-term 1.6-litre Superlight. Combined with the new 175bhp engine, the R300 has a power-to-weight ratio of 339bhp-per-tonne – a Porsche 911 Carrera S has a mere 270 by comparison.

Jaguar XFR debuts at the Detroit Auto Show boasting 500hp

Until today, Jaguar’s elegant XF didn’t have an R-badged derivative at the top of its range. That all changed at the Detroit Auto Show when the British marque took the wraps off a new 503-hp supercharged version of Jag’s comeback-kid four-door sedan. The same engine is also offered in the new XKR coupe, which also debuted at Detroit.
