    Russo and Steele will feature a 2013 SRT Viper GTS at its January auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., with proceeds going to the Sons of Italy foundation (SIF). The auction house says the car was built specifically for the foundation. It will join some 700 sports and muscle cars at the auction, which spans Jan.

    Michael Ninic, Head of BMW Interior Design, dies at 53

    Michael Ninic, who held the position of Head of BMW Car Interior Design for many years, unexpectedly died recently at the age of 53. Ninic, who joined the BMW Interior Design Team in 1987, was appointed head of the department in 1999. In 2001, the department also became responsible for material and color design.

    Though the cloud of uncertainty is currently looming over General Motors' Opel and Vauxhall brands, the economic climate hasn't deterred its Vauxhall division from showing a bit of generosity. Recognizing the burgeoning talent at one of the UK's leading design schools, the British arm of the American automotive giant recently offered car design students from Coventry's School of Art & Design an Insignia prototype, which will be used for 'real life' styling exercises. "We are delighted that Vauxhall has chosen to donate this vehicle to the university for our students to work with.
