We’ve got the 2013 MY Jaguar XJ in Portfolio trim with the 3.0 litre diesel engine and the new eight-speed gearbox and stop-start in for review and road test. But even though it’s changed little in the three years since it debuted, the XJ has changed minds about what a big Jaguar saloon should be; no longer the staid old man’s carriage of choice with a pipe holder in the centre console, but instead a stand-out car in its sector with better dynamics than anything else. Warning over minicab 'free-for-all'

RAPE AND sex assaults could rise due to plans to allow minicab owners to lend their vehicles out to anyone when not at work, police bosses have warned. A cross-party group of Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) across England and Wales said planned deregulation will lead to a "free-for-all". Currently, only licensed private hire drivers can drive a marked private hire vehicle, drivers have to be regularly re-licensed and there are restrictions on vehicles operating across local authority boundaries.

Volvo and Pininfarina to end their Swedish joint venture for the C70

Volvo Car Corp. will take full ownership of a Swedish car assembly joint venture that it started eight years ago with Italy's Pininfarina S.p.A. Volvo said it will assume responsibility for Pininfarina Sverige AB and its operations in Uddevalla, Sweden, in May 2013.
