BMW's Director of Design Adrian van Hooydonk explains the design strategy behind the 4-Series Coupe concept's design in a video interview filmed at the car's reveal at the Munich Design Night. He talks us through how the design team played with the wheelbase length to create new shapes and convey a sense of "elegance and power". New Volvo Concept at Geneva Motor Show. But what is it?

The Volvo XC Coupe Concept (left) and Coupe Concept will be joined by a third concept at Geneva Now Volvo has its new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), and its new Drive-E engine range, heading for production they’ve been planning three new concepts to show off the possibilities the new architecture and engines promise. The first of those was the very appealing Volvo Concept Coupe which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year as a 21st century take on the classic Volvo P1800. With stunning looks, a new nose evolved from the earlier Concept You, floating grill and slim headlights, the Concept Coupe also came with a 4WD drivetrain powered by a 2.0 litre petrol and an electric motor for an output of 395bhp.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo recalled

Owners of 2005-2008 Maserati Quattroportes, 2008 GranTurismos, and the 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C should expect to hear from dealers soon as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall this past week. The recall is for tie-rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection, which then leads to rust and weakening of the units. This unit could fail completely, causing the driver of the vehicle to lose control.
