Pat Owens (1935-2011), affectionately known as "Mr. Triumph," joined the staff of Triumph of America in 1959 and soon worked his way up to Western Service Manager. A good off-road racer and even better tuner, he also served as Johnson Motors' racing manager, preparing flat-trackers, road racers and desert sleds for the likes of future Hall of Famers Gene Romero and Eddie Mulder. Owens left Triumph in 1971 to become lead motorcycle instructor at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, where he helped train a generation of competent bike mechanics. In his spare time Pat put more that 500,000 miles on a 1970 Bonneville T120RT, often with wife Donna behind, including their last big trip to Alaska and back.

In typical Kia fashion, the front of the 2015 Sorento is dominated by its “tiger nose” grille, as well as long swept-back headlights – similar to those on the Cee'd hatchback.

North American automakers are struggling with a nagging shortage of tires, caused in part by tire plant closings and rising demand for low-volume specialty tires. Automakers are paying much higher prices -- double-digit percentage increases from a year ago -- as tire makers gain pricing power. "We have been bombarded from every side for additional tires, and we can't keep up," said David O'Donnell, Continental Tire's vice president of original equipment in the Americas.
