Volvo Group plans wirelessly charged bus line

Tue, 20 May 2014

There's one bit of futuristic transportation technology that seems to get trotted out almost as often as autonomous cars, electric cars and flying cars: Inductive, or wireless, charging for city buses. It's not as sexy or as memorable as the perpetually out-of-reach commuter-grade Harrier jet, but it uses proven technology (GM's EV-1 uses inductive charging, as do electric toothbrushes) to save or eliminate fuel and to reduce emissions. Now, whilst McLaren are busy touring the P1 round the Middle East, they’ve taken the opportunity to get a new set of stunning photos of the McLaren P1 at the Bahrain International Circuit showing the P1 in a set of beautifully lit and shot photos.

He's working on that final piece of the puzzle that elevates our Traffic Assist and Lane Assist and Park Assist and Whiz-Bang Assist into a cohesive package that, yes, gives us the self-driving cars our commuters and slackers have always wanted. Audi believes that we will be saved by technology.
