We’ve already had the news that Peugeot won’t be building an estate or convertible version of the new 208, but they will be building an SUV and its almost certain to be badged the Peugeot 2008. MG name stands proud again at Longbridge

The company that runs the remnants of former UK automaker MG Rover has dropped a reference to its Chinese parent from its name. NAC MG UK has changed its name to MG Motor UK to emphasize the MG name, a company spokesman said. Nanjing Automobile Company or NAC bought MG Rover's assets in July 2005, three months after the UK's last domestically owned volume carmaker collapsed through financial difficulties.

Cars recalled in fire risk alert

MORE THAN 400 recently-bought Peugeot and Citroen cars are being recalled in the UK due to a possible fuel leak and fire risk. Affecting models including the Peugeot 208 and 308 and the Citroen C4, the recall is necessary as during manufacture the high-pressure fuel rail pipes were not tightened correctly. This may have resulted in poor sealing of the rail and fuel leaking on to the engine, which could result in an engine bay fire.
