Up for auction is a set  (2) of rebuilt Convertible top motors that will fit 95-06 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

There are one of these on each side, both sides use the same part number.

These are the latest motors that were upgraded in 1999 to address the weaknesses in the prior years.

The motor gear on the earlier ones were pinned to the shaft, on these the gear and shaft are splined. This eliminated 90% of the failures.

They also installed larger screws that mount the motor to the gear housing.

These come with a 5 year no questions asked warranty.

These were cleaned inside and out, all surfaces inspected for wear, new grease added and completely tested.

About these Globe motors:
You may have noticed in other auctions they claim the motor they have for sale fits several vehicles, here is the scoop.

These globe motors were used on several vehicles, but here are a few things to be aware of.
1. Most use different plugs and the length of the wires are different.
In order for one to work that is from a different vehicle, the wires and plug from your old motor will have to be spliced onto the purchased one.

2. On some of the vehicles the motors have threads in the mounting holes, and on some the mounting holes are clearance drilled and have no threads.
a. If your vehicle needs the one with threads and the one you buy doesn't have threads, you will need to install thread inserts.
b. If the opposite is the case you will need to drill out the threads.

3. The biggest failure on these is the 3/32" dowel pin that retains the gear to the motor shaft breaks. If that pin is not inspected as well as all of the gears, there is on way of telling the condition of the motor.

Save yourself a bunch of trouble and ask questions before you buy.

Sat, 09 Apr 2011

Will the 2012 M5 get four wheel drive? Now there’s something to cogitate on for BMW M5 fruitcakes. Autocar are reading a comment by BMW’s head of R&D, Albert Biermann, that “…there will be some all-wheel-drive surprises on M cars in the future.” as evidence that BMW are going to do the almost unthinkable and offer 4WD as an option on the 2012 BMW M5.

Configure and price the 2015 Chrysler 200 of your dreams online

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Perhaps we're more excited about the 2015 Chrysler 200, which just made its official debut at the Detroit auto show, than we ought to be. In one sense, it's just another compact sedan in a segment full of capable vehicles. But we didn't have a lot of love for the looks or performance of the current car, which felt like a carryover from Detroit's darkest days hanging around until something more competitive came down the assembly line.
