This listing is for a new Racerdirect.net Ballistic Transmission Blanket. This Universal Transmission Blanket is SFI 4.1 Approved. Color Black. This entire blanket is made from oil and water resistant materials,  which includes 10 Ballistic Layers of material. Very much inline with a law enforcement vest. This blanket measures out at 17.5" wide and 45" in length. There is plenty of scope from the 2" 7 panel webbing to wrap around any Automatic or Manual Transmission. These are IHRA/NHRA accepted and are Made in the USA. NHRA rules require that any automatic transmission equipped car running 10.99 or quicker or faster than 135 mph ( 217 km/h ) must be equipped with a transmission shield or blanket-type shield with a SFI rating of 4.1. The straps on the blanket can handle 24,000 pounds of pressure. These are made for those high horsepower rides where an OEM floor pan and firewall just cannot accept a shield. In the event of a transmission explosion, keep the flying metal parts contained and away from you, the fans and not on the track where your tires can be punctured by fragmented pieces causing you to loose traction on the track.  More and more tracks are requiring these when you go through tech inspection. Don't be left in the stands after all your hard working building and dialing in your car to end up watching the racing when you could be in the drivers seat.
