UK New car sales hit 394,806 in March 2013

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The latest figures from the SMMT show that new car registrations in the UK in March 2013 hit 394,806, up 5.9 per cent over March 2012. The seemingly inexorable rise in new car registrations in the UK is continuing, with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reporting sales in March 2013 up 5.9 per cent on March 2012, with a total of 394,086 cars registered. These figures mean that new car registrations have grown for thirteen consecutive month and are now at their highest level since the Government introduced the Scrappage scheme in 2010 to try and breathe new life in to the market and encourage buyers to opt for low emission cars.

Ferrari plans to sell fewer cars in 2013

Wed, 08 May 2013

Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo has announced an unusual plan for the Prancing Horse: to sell fewer cars in 2013 than the 7000 it delivered in 2012. Speaking in Maranello, di Montezemolo stated that 'this is a far-sighted decision to strengthen our brand equity, from what I learned from Enzo Ferrari… We must resist people who say the competition will benefit from us making fewer cars… When others penetrate our markets, we are happy to meet this challenge.' Is Ferrari mad to chase fewer sales? It is not the first time that Ferrari has decided to limit supply: 'In 2003 we did the same,' explains Montezemolo.

European Grand Prix (2011) RESULT

Sun, 26 Jun 2011

European Grand Prix 2011 - Vettel back on pole It’s probably as big a shift in weather and conditions as we’ve had this F1 season, from the deluge of the island track in Canada to the searing heat of a Valencian Summer for the 2011 European Grand Prix, but was that enough to see Vettel recover from the defeat he suffered in Canada at the hands of a quite simply brilliant Jenson Button? Well, yes, it was. Just as he was in 2010, Vettel was on pole in Valencia and back on unrelenting form, leading as if by right from beginning to end; controlling the gap to the cars behind as if by divine intervention.
