High pressure springs fabricated from alloy steel for top performance and long spring life. The Claude Gray shock absorber design has been service-proven on the EAA Biplane, Miniplane, Pitts and others. Over 1,000 pair in use. Length 6", 2" O.D., 1" I.D.. Wt. 4-1/2 lbs. per pair. Spring deflection 0.7" per 1,000 lb. force.

Ford Motor Co. has adapted its Sync in-car connectivity system to cope with high speeds on German autobahns. Ford launched Sync in North America in 2007 and will offer the system on its models in Europe starting next year.

Jaguar has pulled a surprise with the reveal of a more focused, and expensive, XKR ahead of the New York Auto Show – the Jaguar XKR-S GT. The XKR-S GT doesn’t get extra power – the XKR-S already has 542bhp – but it does get lots of tweaks to make it more able to use the performance it has. That means a new bonnet with more vents to improve cooling, a new carbon fibre front splitter, new rear diffuser, an aluminium undertray at the front, a whopping great spoiler at the back and bits of carbon fibre floating around.

Due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008, Rinspeed says the aptly named sQuba is the ‘world’s first real diving car’.
