VW boss Bernhard quits
Fri, 12 Jan 2007By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 12 January 2007 09:57 Volkswagen boss Wolfgang Bernhard has quit the company as part of a shake-up at Europe's biggest car maker. Bernhard built a reputation as an abrasive operator in his short stint as CEO of the Wolfsburg company and had numerous confrontations with unions as he pushed through more modern working practices.
Merdad vision of the Range Rover Evoque – the Evoque Mer-Nazz
Tue, 25 Oct 2011The Merdad Evoque Mer-Nazz We’re already starting to see the first efforts of the pimpers, tuners, modders and customisers on the new Range Rover Evoque surfacing, and the latest is the Merdad Evoque Mer-Nazz Regular readers with good memories will remember Merdad as the man unfortunate enough to be the UK arm of the Gemballa operation when everything went wrong for Uwe Gemballa. That meant the end of Gemballa in the UK, but Merdad has bounced back with his now eponymous company to create extreme cars for those with tastes for more unsubtle forms of car customisation. Merdad’s first effort was a very Gembala-esque two-door Cayenne, but he went British with a subsequent effort when he created the McLaren MP4-12C MehRon, which we took to be an homage to Ron Dennis.
GTbyCitroen does London
Tue, 23 Jun 2009The GTbyCitroen has been out seeing the sights in London And so it has been lately with the Citroen Supercar – the GTbyCitroen. We’ve had the news that the UK debut of the GT Citroen will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July – where it will tackle Goodwood’s Hillclimb – and just a few weeks before we learnt that the GTbyCitroen was going to make an appearence and put in a parade lap at Le Mans. And now, no doubt because the GTbyCitroen is in the UK for Goodwood, Citroen has been out playing at London Tourist – blatting around town in the GT.
