Shovelhead/Evolution Oil Pump Cover, OEM #33348-78, 1978-83  (w/Chain Oiler)

This pump cover was first used in 1978, but the style is typical of the covers used on Evolution Big Twins as late as 1991.

The upper cover tube with the bend is correct, and it's a feature that first appeared in 1978.    Also, the slotted chain adjuster screw is common to FL models from '72-early '83.   Putting those facts together, this cover likely originated in a late production Shovelhead, 1978-'83, but again, the style can be used as late as '91, but you should review your own Factory references to verify fitment for '84-later applications.

Nice condition, no damage, and no gear run-out of the inner face/machined surfaces.    We are only noting light end shaft etching, but it's so light that we consider it functionally irrelevant.     Also, note this cover is machined for a chain oiler tube and adjuster screw.    NOS replacements from the Factory did not have these ready-machined, so this is a nice bonus for those wishing an oiler feature.

We use Domestic Parcel Post and First Class Mail International, often.  Rates vary by region, and we assume the furthest destination.  Consequently, overages can occur, depending on your location, relative to California.  Generally, we do not refund overages.  However, where overages are excessive, we issue credit on a discretionary basis.  Inversely, we always honor our posted shipping, even when it's under-estimated.   Flat Rate Shipping purchases are not impacted.

Technical Descriptions
Our understanding is not perfect, and we're happy to learn from others.  If you wish to contribute to the accuracy of our listings, we welcome your input.  If you have questions, please ask.  If technical problems arise after receiving your parts, please contact us ASAP.  However, shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility, unless there is an obvious error on our part.  Thank you!

No Porsche plan for model priced less than Boxster

Thu, 21 Jun 2012

Porsche has no plans to sell a car costing less than the Boxster, according to the automaker's head of sales and marketing. "To build a Porsche for 30,000 euros [$37,800 at current exchange rates] currently doesn't fit our brand," Bernhard Maier told the Automotive News Europe Congress in Monaco on Thursday. "The extraordinary purchase experience is not for free and the entry price is currently covered with the Boxster and in the future by the Macan." He said Porsche's plan to double sales won't compromise exclusivity.
