Goodguys to honor Ed Pink, Ed Iskenderian at Del Mar Nationals
Tue, 20 Mar 2012Southern California legends Ed Pink and Ed Iskenderian will be honored as Hot Rod Heroes at the Goodguys 12th Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals, March 30-April 1, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Both men bring decades of rich hot-rodding and motorsports heritage to the festivities. Pink, who was one of the world's premier engine builders in all racing platforms, will have a booth on the midway showcasing Ed Pink Racing Engines and his red 1929 Ford Hiboy roadster, his “Old Master” Top Fuel dragster and other Pink-powered hot rods.
Norwegian EV maker Think files for bankruptcy
Thu, 23 Jun 2011Tiny electric car maker Think Global AS filed for bankruptcy today in its home market of Norway after attempts to keep the company going through recapitalization and restructuring failed, the company said in a statement. It is the fourth time Think has collapsed financially in its 20-year history. "We needed some additional funding and although we had interested investors they were not able to come to the table quickly enough," Think spokesman James Andrew told Automotive News Europe.
Drivers believe potholes 'are out of control'
Thu, 17 Apr 2014MOST DRIVERS (67%) think the pothole problem in the UK is getting out of control and the government and councils are not doing enough to solve the problem. Research by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has found 65% of female drivers and 69% of male drivers are very unhappy with the condition of the UK’s roads. The IAM cites a lack of communication between councils and drivers for this situation as a third (34% ) of drivers believe councils are reducing the amount they spend on road maintenance but 60% of drivers admit they don’t know if budgets are genuinely being cut.
