Kia styling chief Schreyer is fluent in Koreapean

The way Peter Schreyer sees it, there is one key difference between European and Korean automakers: Europeans design from the heart, Koreans from the head. "In a European company, everybody is a car driver, a car enthusiast," says the Germany-born design chief of Kia Motors Corp. "Everybody from the CEO to the little designer to people on the production line, they want to build cars they want to drive themselves." Koreans can be more market-oriented: "They look at the big picture, which markets to explore or conquer.

Toyota concepts

Toyota is set to unveil a trio of concepts at this year's Tokyo motor show. Taking snap-shots of the future of Toyota, they are said to represent the 'near-future, mid-term and far out.' Next Ford Mustang to follow Evos concept, ditch retro styling, report says

The Ford Mustang has been rolling with a retro-heavy styling theme since the fourth generation of the pony car appeared as a 1994 model. But the Wall Street Journal reports that the sixth-generation Mustang, due out in about two years, will break that mold. The newspaper, citing sources it did not name who know of Ford's plans, says that the new Mustang will look a lot like the Evos concept from last year's Frankfurt show.
