Subaru recall hits nearly 634,000 Legacy, Outback, Tribeca and Forester vehicles

Subaru has issued a recall for 2010 and 2011 Legacy and Outback vehicles, 2006 through 2012 Tribeca crossovers and 2009 through 2012 Foresters. The automaker says that “puddle lights” on those vehicles could, if exposed to an electrolytic fluid like salty water, short circuit and cause a fire. All in all, 633,842 cars and crossovers are included in the recall.

Volkswagen has started the tease for the Mk 7 Golf R with the new Golf R hidden in a block of ice as a ‘Frozen Beast’ ahead of a Geneva 2013 debut. Now that Volkswagen has the Mk7 Golf in the wild – and the MK 7 VW GTi too – they’re ready to turn the wick up to 11 with the launch of the MK 7 Golf R – or at least the concept version – at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Jaguar’s Adrian Hallmark has revealed that Jaguar’s new manual gearbox will be heading in to the new F-Type. They’ve gone because the slush boxes of old have been replaced by new, double clutch boxes that actually give better performance and better economy than a driver with a left foot in action. But still, the yearning for the control and feel of a manual ‘box remains at the core of the driving experience.
