Get your sketchbooks and markers ready, because that time is again upon us: the 2013 CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest. Launching this Friday, this year's contest once again challenges design students from across North America to take on one of four briefs from GMC, Buick, Chevrolet or Cadillac. You can enter designs in different briefs, but be aware there's only two months to develop proposals before the shortlist is announced.

Aston Martin to recall nearly 17,000 cars

Aston Martin has announced it is to recall 16,825 cars globally to rectify an issue that has emerged with the throttle pedal of its cars. Models built between November 2007 and October 2013 will be recalled, the firm says, because they “may exhibit a defect in the throttle pedal”. Bertone to mark its 100th birthday with Turin exhibition

Bertone is celebrating its 100th birthday with an historic exhibition at Turin's National Car Museum from 29 June to 14 October called ‘One hundred years of car design'. With the support of the Italian Prime Minister, the Region of Piedmont, the Province and City of Turin and the UIGA (Italian Union of Automotive Journalists), this exhibition displays an overview of Bertone's most significant models, such as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1954), the Lamborghini Miura (1966), the Lancia Stratos HF (1972) and the Fiat X1/9, which celebrates its 40th birthday this year. Founded in 1912, Bertone is one of the most prestigious and renowned Carrozzeria.
