We’re expecting the Peugeot 208 to make its production ready public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring of 2012, but La Tribune are reporting this morning that Peugeot are planning to reveal the 208 on 2nd November.
BMW's new 5-series next for hybrid power
Wed, 28 Oct 2009The new BMW 5-series being launched this winter is likely to be the next BMW to receive the ActiveHybrid system pioneered on the petrol-electric 7-series and X6 models. BMW engineers admit they can't rely on sales of the pricey hybrid 7-series and X6 to justify the development costs, even though these range-topping halo hybrids were jointly developed with Daimler and GM. Senior sources have indicated that the new 2010 5-series will be the next BMW to get an ActiveHybrid model.
BMW Concept X5 eDrive (2013) plug-in hybrid at Frankfurt motor show
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Sharing the stage with the BMW i3 at the Frankfurt motor show is the BMW Concept X5 eDrive. The plug-in hybrid X5 is set to re-write the SUV rulebook with its four-cylinder petrol-electric drivetrain producing claimed figures of less than 90g/km of CO2 and a tree-hugging 74.3mpg, smashing the Lexus RX450h which produces 145g/km and 44.8mpg. What’s more, it’s better than the most efficient 3-series currently on sale, and far more frugal than the V8-powered BMW X6 Active Hybrid that was axed in late 2011.
